SC Vintage Car Club Swapmeet and Bazaar
ORARI RACECOURSE, ORARI
SATURDAY 5 APRIL 2025 – 8AM start
The Swapmeet is a key event for the South Canterbury Vintage Car Club, normally held yearly on the first Saturday in April*.
- If Easter clashes with the First Saturday in April, the Swapmeet is held on the last weekend of March.
All types of items are for sale. You might fund an abacus or a zither or automotive parts for an Alvis or a Zetor!
- Starts 8:00 am
- Entry fee for the public $5.00
Site holders and visitors often come from across the South Island, and there are always no shortage of parts for rare models on hand. Sites are not just about vehicles either – there are a variety of sites present appealing to all ages, including arts and crafts, community groups, books, household items, clothing, food, tools, and garden plants.
History of the Swapmeet
The swapmeet was first held in the early 1980s at the SCVCC clubrooms. Owing to the success of the first swapmeet it was held outside for the next, before outgrowing the clubroom environs entirely, moving to the Winchester Showgrounds. The swapmeet has gone from strength to strength since, with stalls often numbering over 300, and thousands of visitors per year.
For 2022 the venue was shifted to Orari Racecourse, and in 2023, Timaru International Motor Raceway. For 2024 the venue is again Orari Racecourse.

Information for VCC Members
This is our major fundraiser for the year and a great day’s fun! We look to as many members as possible to assist with gate duty – just an hour out of one’s day that makes a major contribution to the event. Display of Branch members cars adds to the interest of the event.
Volunteer or confirm your place on the roster on line or phone Gavin Munro – 03 686 4824.
